Well its been a busy few months for us here at B and H Access Scaffolding and Bricklaying and it doesn’t seem to be slowing down!

As we’ve mentioned previously we have been working on quite a few of the Devonshire Homes sites around Devon and Cornwall. These are possibly one of the best New Home builders we have ever been fortunate to work with.

For more than 25 years, Devonshire Homes has been committed to building high quality new homes across the West Country. As an independent, award-winning house builder, they strive to provide homes that not only meet the needs of house hunters, but which are sympathetic to the surrounding environment.

B and H have been in the business for over 30 years and we completely agree with the ethos of Devonshire Homes and can vouch for the quality and craftmanship that goes into each and every build.

They take a partnership approach to ensure that they deliver beautiful homes that people will fall in love with.

Some of their partners include award winning architects, high-calibre and trusted suppliers, and industry respected agencies including DCH, Housing Growth Partnership and Homes England – all of whom play a significant role in the success of their new homes sites.

There is a diverse portfolio of sought-after properties from single bedroom apartments to five bedroom detached family homes. All homes are designed with modern living in mind, drawing on years of experience in creating stylish practical homes. They’ve built traditional countryside homes with charming thatched roofs, contemporary apartments and new houses and redeveloped the Grade II listed buildings to create truly striking and individual sets of homes.

Each of the properties are constructed and finished to Devonshire Homes’ own high standards and all of the homes use less energy, consume optimally and are truly beautiful inside and out.

We’ve been working in Bovey Tracey, Kingsbridge and St Austell on very different sites. Have a look below and we’re sure you’ll be impressed!

Longston Cross is a collection of 156 homes ranging from 2 to 5 bedrooms. Ideally located close to the town centre, the development borders open farmland that climbs up to the rugged beauty of Dartmoor and its most famous landmark, Haytor Rocks.

The various house types all draw inspiration from the local landscape to create a modern and comfortable home that sits sensitively in its surroundings. Each has been carefully designed to enjoy a sense of light and proportion.

The development is reached via Marriott Way leading directly off Monks Way, which provides easy onward access in all directions. The town of Bovey Tracey offers a wide range of excellent local facilities and amenities, and is a popular centre for arts and crafts.

Bovey Tracey is a popular country town with a strong sense of community. Called “The Gateway to the Moor”, it includes a wide range of shops and amenities set within a pleasant local environment. Green spaces, craft centres and classic Devon architecture all add to the town’s ambience.

Dartmoor National Park is a landscape of stunning views in the very heart of Devon, made famous by its granite tors, deep wooded valleys and rugged, wide-open spaces. This makes Dartmoor a haven for outdoor activities, including cycling, kayaking, hiking and riding.

Applegate Park is a collection of 94 homes ranging from 1 to 4 bedrooms. Located on the edge of Kingsbridge, an estuary town in South Devon, the development borders open fields but is only a short walk from the town’s centre and quayside.

The development offers a range of contemporary house types that respond to the local landscape. The overall design language is one of style and functionality, using glazing to offer natural light and elegant living spaces — resulting in a collection of modern homes that sit sensitively within their surroundings.

Applegate Park is situated off Belle Hill, which leads out of Kingsbridge towards Totnes — giving easy onward access in all directions. The town itself has amenities and local facilities, combining convenience with the charm and beauty of a market town by the water.

Kingsbridge is a charming market town in the South Hams district, on the banks of a stunning estuary. Situated in the heart of the South Devon Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, the town is surrounded by picturesque rolling hills and offers a perfect combination of coastal and countryside living.

In the town, historic buildings sit alongside independent shops and cafés, and a farmers’ market selling local produce and crafts is held on the first and third Saturday of the month. Kingsbridge offers two superstores, a leisure centre, cinema, restaurants, pubs and art galleries, as well as healthcare services and schooling for all ages.

Gwallon Keas is a collection of 200 homes ranging from 2 to 5 bedrooms. It is located in a rural position on the edge of St Austell, one of Cornwall’s largest market towns.

Access to the town via Holmbush Road is easy, and the stunning Cornish coastline is a short distance away at Carlyon Bay and Charlestown.

The development offers a range of stylish house types that draw inspiration from the local landscape while sitting sympathetically within it. The overall design language is both modern and comfortable, with rooms enjoying a sense of light and proportion.

Gwallon Keas

Gwallon Keas is located near the village of Holmbush, an area with a rich tin and copper mining heritage. In addition to the Tesco Superstore you’ll find several independent stores nearby, including the local butcher, bakery, pet store and Post Office.

St Austell is a lively market town, 10 miles south of Bodmin and some 30 miles west of the Devon border. As one of the largest towns in Cornwall it offers all the amenities that a thriving community needs, and is home to the world-famous Eden Project.

The town enjoys excellent transport links, close to the main A30 and the rail link between London and Truro/Penzance. Newquay Airport is just 15 miles away. St Austell established itself as a major centre during the eighteenth century, when china clay took over from tin and copper as the area’s principal industry.
